Pinehurst is Calling - U.S. Open Preview

The U.S. Open takes place this weekend, and we can't wait for all the action to unfold in North Carolina. Who will be this year's champion?

The major championships bring with them a sense of renown and prestige that golf enthusiasts cherish. These great tournaments produce the most thrilling fist-pump moments, and cheering with the new champions as they sink their final putt can be incredibly cathartic.

This weekend's U.S. Open will be held at the esteemed Pinehurst No.2, a course rich in history. Pinehurst No.2 has previously hosted the U.S. Open in 2014, 2005, and 1999.

This year's tournament is particularly poignant as it marks the 25th anniversary of Payne Stewart's victory in the 1999 championship, before he tragically lost his life in a plane crash a few months later in October of that year.

A statue of Stewart's signature one-legged pose, made upon sinking his final putt and winning the tournament, stands outside the clubhouse to welcome players and spectators to the course.

Who will emerge as the victor this year? Will Scottie Scheffler become the first player to win two majors in the same year since Rory McIlroy in 2014? Or will a less-decorated player rise among the ranks to take the trophy?

Stay tuned as the excitement of the U.S. Open unfolds at Pinehurst No.2!
