Golf fans, brace yourselves for another exhilarating triumph! Thanks to a powerhouse performance in her final round, Linn Grant defied the odds to claim victory over both men and women in the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed.
Linn Grant overcame an astounding 11-shot deficit to win the Scandinavian Mixed event in her native Sweden. The Swedish star delivered a thrilling performance, making seven birdies in her final round to surpass her compatriot Sebastian Soderborg and secure a one-stroke victory.
The Scandinavian Mixed is a unique tournament where both male and female golfers compete together, showcasing the best of both worlds. This victory marks Grant’s second Scandinavian Mixed title, having previously defeated notable players like Henrik Stenson and Marc Warren at the 2022 event.
Soderborg seemed poised to win this year's tournament, sitting comfortably at 21-under-par at the end of the third round. However, a challenging final round saw him struggle with a five-over-par performance, culminating in a double bogey on the 18th hole.
When asked about becoming a two-time winner on the DP World Tour, Grant expressed a mix of emotions about the dramatic final day.
“Just very mixed emotions, I mean like I said before I feel honestly terrible for Sebastian at the moment. I can’t imagine how he feels, and at the same time, surprised. Like so surprised standing here as a winner again.”
